* Get plastic bugs to decorate the cake
* If lady bugs are her favorite, make a red velvet cake with chocolate chips and ice with red icing, use black licorice for the legs and antenna, and chocolate wafer cookies for the spots
* Make a bumble bee cake in a similar way to the lady bug, but use a yellow cake and chocolate cake layers for the stripes inside the cake!
* Butterfly themes are fairly easy…just go to your local craft store and you can find butterflies made from feathers to decorate the cake, table, etc.
Ocean themed baby shower party ideas
* Think blue for ocean themes: blue plates, napkins, table cloths, etc.
* Decorate the cake with plastic fish
* Serve seafood dishes like crab dip, tuna salad sandwiches, etc.
* Incorporate dolphins, whales, seals and more using stuffed animals that not only decorate the tables, but can be baby gifts, too!
Baby Shower Ideas for Girls
Now this is MY area of expertise! With 4 daughters, I am always seeing pink!
* Use quilts to decorate tables for a country theme or teddy bear picnic
* Pink Toile napkins and plates are a dainty touch
* Lots of pink ribbons and bows
* Tea party showers are great with tiny sandwiches and petit fours for the cake
* Princess baby showers with tiaras, boas, satin fabric and tulle
